Amphiprion ocellaris - The Black Semi-Storm Clownfish is a striking captive bred variant developed by Proaquatix and now available through Biota. This unique fish features a black body accented by crisp white bars.
Semi-Black Storms arrive tank‑ready and free from wild‑capture stress. They have been conditioned on high quality pellets and flakes, and readily accept frozen foods such as mysis shrimp, ocean plankton, and brine shrimp. Their captive‑bred origins make them hardier and more adaptable than wild‑caught specimens, allowing them to settle in quickly and thrive under standard reef conditions.
Like all clownfish, Semi-Black Storms exhibit a clear social hierarchy. In a group or pair, the largest fish becomes the female while the next largest becomes male. This species is reef safe and compatible with most other reef safe fish. Their natural host anemones are H. magnifica, S. gigantea, and S. mertensii, but they often adopt Bubble Tip Anemones, rockwork, coral, or algae as substitutes for host anemones.
By offering this Proaquatix‑bred variety, Biota makes it easy to support sustainable aquaculture and add a fancy variety of one of the most popular aquarium fish to your reef.
