An acclimation box is the best tool for introducing new fish to established fish in your tank or for introducing fish to one another for pairing/breeding purposes. New fish tend to hide when first introduced to an aquarium and can be more difficult to feed. Keeping them in an acclimation box on arrival allows you to keep a close eye on them and ensures the food you're giving them is well within their reach. Give your fish a chance to rest and recuperate after shipping with a comfortable acclimation box.

Also great for anemones and corals like mushrooms that need a low flow area to attach to substrates without being swept away by the currents to be lost behind the rockwork. It can also be used as a fish catcher. Includes magnets for mounting and fishing line to use as a fish catcher. 

How to properly use an acclimation box

Be sure to add appropriate hiding places in your acclimation box like PVC pipe (longer and wider than your fish, but still somewhat "snug"), a fake plant decoration, live algae, or live rock rubble for grazing, for example, to make your fish feel safe. The acclimation box should be large enough so the fish can swim and move around comfortably. If a fish is put into an acclimation box that is too small or not furnished, it will likely experience appetite loss and stress.

Allow room at the top of the acclimation box for the water surface. Don't fully submerge the box. Be sure the box is getting enough flow. You can place it near a wavemaker or water return, or use an airstone to provide more movement. Do not allow organic waste to build up inside the box.
