Gold Stripe Maroon Clownfish Proaquatix

Details

Premnas biaculeatus - The Gold Stripe Maroon Clownfish is one of the most eye-catching clownfish varieties available in the hobby. Known for its bold maroon coloration and striking golden-yellow stripes, this species makes a dramatic and beautiful addition to reef and fish-only aquariums. These Gold Stripe Maroons from Proaquatix are aquacultured, making them hardier and better adapted to aquarium life than their wild counterparts.

Gold Stripe Maroon Clownfish are known for their unique personality. While they can be territorial as they mature, especially during spawning, they are also intelligent and interactive with their environment and aquarists. Their distinctive coloration becomes more vibrant with age, as the white juvenile stripes gradually shift to gold over time.

In the wild, this species naturally hosts in bubble-tip anemones (Entacmaea quadricolor), and they will often form the same relationship in a captive setting if an anemone is present. However, a host anemone is not required for their care, and they will thrive in a well-maintained reef tank without one.

These fish do best in tanks of at least 30 gallons and should be housed with caution if pairing, as aggression can occur between individuals. Aquacultured by Proaquatix, this is a sustainable and aquarium-ready option for hobbyists looking for a show-stopping clownfish with a bit of attitude.

When combining Proaquatix with Biota fish in the same order, please choose a Thursday or Friday delivery
