Tigrigobius panamensis - The Green Banded Goby from Bocas Mariculture is a fantastic example of how small reef fish can have big personality. Captive bred and fully aquacultured, these gobies arrive hardy, well adapted to aquarium life, and already accustomed to prepared foods. Their crisp green and white banding gives them a clean, eye catching look that stands out even in larger tanks.
This species stays very small and is naturally peaceful and reef safe, making it an excellent choice for community reefs and smaller tanks, even pico tanks! Green Banded Gobies spend much of their time perched on rockwork or hovering just above the substrate, adding constant movement and charm without bothering tankmates or corals.
They can be kept successfully as a single fish, as a bonded pair, or even in small groups when provided with adequate space, rockwork, and hiding spots. In group settings, starting with multiple juveniles at the same time helps minimize territorial behavior and allows natural hierarchies to form.
They also mix well with other peaceful nano and pico gobies, including species from the genera Elacatinus, Trimma, and Eviota.
