Elacatinus figaro - The Yellow Neon Goby stands out with a vibrant, reflective yellow stripe that runs the length of its sleek black and white body. Small in size but big in personality, this species is a popular choice for reef aquariums thanks to its color, peaceful nature, and helpful behavior.
In the wild, E. figaro lives in groups along the Brazilian coast, where it establishes cleaning stations. Larger fish will actively seek them out, pausing to have parasites and dead skin gently picked from their gills, mouths, and fins. This cleaning instinct often continues in the home aquarium, adding a fascinating and beneficial dynamic to your tank.
These captive-bred specimens from Proaquatix are fully weaned onto prepared foods like pellets and flakes, and also enjoy frozen options such as Mysis shrimp and brine. Unlike some wild cleaner species, they thrive in captivity and readily accept standard aquarium diets.
Peaceful and reef safe, Yellow Neon Gobies can be kept singly or in groups, and they do well in both nano tanks and larger reef systems. They are compatible with most other peaceful fish, though like other small gobies, they should not be housed with aggressive or ambush predators.
When combining Proaquatix with Biota fish in the same order, please choose a Friday delivery.
