Chaetodontoplus septentrionalis - The Blueline Angelfish is a sought after medium/large species of angelfish with electric blue lines. It has an elegant body shape and personality to go with its stunning beauty.
As wild caught, this species is expensive and considered to be difficult to keep. Captive breeding efforts have not only made this fish much more affordable, but these USA captive bred fish are also well conditioned and hardier, even eating easy-to-feed prepared foods. This is why we can offer a generous 7 day livestock guarantee. It's very important for long term health to offer a wide variety of foods to these omnivores that includes angelfish specific foods containing sponge and tunicate which are essential to its diet. They also readily consume small pellets, frozen mysis, Spirunlina brine shrimp, and seaweed. Young fish should be fed an average of 3 - 5x a day.
This species is somewhat shy but semi-aggressive as an adult and reef safe with caution, as it may pick at coral polyps, LPS corals, soft corals, and clams. The maximum adult size is 8". It's imperative to use an acclimation box when introducing these young fish to a tank with established fish. These fish do best in a mature aquarium with large areas for grazing.
These fish can not be delivered on Fridays. During checkout, please choose on the calendar a delivery date on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday only.
