Elacatinus oceanops - The Blue Neon Goby is small with a bold iridescent blue stripe that runs from nose to tail, set against a sleek black-and-white body. Native to the waters of Florida and the Caribbean, this tiny goby adds vibrant color and utility to any reef tank.
This species is well known for its natural cleaning behavior. In the wild, Blue Neon Gobies set up cleaning stations where larger fish voluntarily stop to have parasites and dead skin removed. That behavior often continues in the aquarium, making them not just beautiful but functional tankmates. They’ll gently pick at debris on other fish while also readily accepting prepared foods like pellets, flakes, and frozen fare.
Our captive-bred specimens from Proaquatix are hardy and reef safe. They are peaceful with most other species and can be kept singly or in small groups in tanks with plenty of rockwork and swimming space. At around 2 inches fully grown, they’re perfect for both nano and larger reef aquariums.
When combining Proaquatix with Biota fish in the same order, please choose a Friday delivery.
