Cultured Elegance Coral

Details

Catalaphyllia jardenei - Bring the grace and color of the reef to your aquarium with Biota cultured Elegance Corals. These stunning LPS corals are known for their flowing tentacles, vibrant shades of green, purple, and pink, and their unmistakable “elegant” appearance that makes them a centerpiece in any reef tank.

Unlike wild Elegance corals, which are often short-lived in captivity and prone to disease, our corals are carefully propagated from healthy parent colonies. Fragments are cut, then grown out for up to a year in pristine aquaculture systems until they are fully healed, robust, and ready for home aquariums. This process produces corals that are hardier, more adaptable, and far more sustainable than wild-collected specimens.

Why Cultured Elegance Corals Are Better

Wild Elegance corals can be unpredictable. Many develop tissue infections shortly after import, leading to poor survival rates. Cultured Elegance corals, however, are fully acclimated to aquarium conditions and thrive under proper care.

Care and Placement

Elegance corals prefer moderate lighting and gentle to moderate flow that allows their tentacles to sway naturally without being blasted. Place them on the sand bed or a stable, low rock ledge where their fleshy base can expand comfortably. They appreciate stable water parameters and occasional target feeding with meaty foods such as mysis shrimp or coral pellets like Easy Reefs Easy LPS.
