Rhodactis sp. - The Lavender Lime Mushroom, like many mushroom corals, is a a hardy species great for beginners. This "hairy mushroom" variety is special with its lavender tips and lime green base. Not only are they attractive, they're easy to keep and grow.
Although it gets most of its nutrition from symbiotic zooxanthellae, it will grow and spread more quickly with additional feedings of frozen foods or tiny pellet foods. These corals reproduce asexually in home aquariums by budding. Thanks to their high growth rate, in no time they'll make a lovely, lush carpet on the bottom of your aquarium or on a large rock.
Provide moderate lighting and moderate flow. These mushrooms grow larger than most other mushroom corals, and their (relatively) long tentacles may sting other peaceful corals, so give them plenty of space to expand away from neighboring corals.
