Amphiprion melanopus - The Proaquatix Cinnamon Clownfish is immediately recognizable by its deep red body, a single clean white stripe running through the operculum, and a characteristic black patch on its posterior flank. Some individuals may even display subtle reflective blue pigments within the white stripe, while the pelvic fins remain solid black, creating a striking contrast that enhances any reef display.
Raised entirely in aquaculture, these Cinnamon Clownfish arrive tank-ready and accustomed to prepared diets, making them hardier and more adaptable than wild-caught specimens. Although they naturally associate with bubble-tip anemones (Entacmaea quadricolor), Sebae anemones (Heteractis crispa), and magnificent anemones (Heteractis magnifica) in the wild, Proaquatix-bred specimens will thrive without a host but will readily accept one if provided.
Like all clownfish, these Cinnamon Clownfish are sequential hermaphrodites. In a group or pair, the largest fish becomes female and the next largest becomes male. They are reef-safe and generally ignore corals and invertebrates, often playfully adopting rockwork, algae, or even non-stinging corals as surrogate homes.
These captive-bred Cinnamon Clownfish have been weaned onto high-quality pellets and flakes, and eagerly accept frozen foods such as ocean plankton, mysis shrimp, and brine shrimp. Their robust health, striking coloration, and engaging behavior make them a superb choice for both seasoned reef keepers and hobbyists looking to add reliable performance and lasting beauty to their aquariums.
