Disco (Smithi) Blenny Proaquatix (Friday Delivery)

Details

Meiacanthus smithi - The Disco or Smith's Fangblenny is a small, peaceful, reef safe blenny. It is venomous, but don't let that scare you off. Those fangs are strictly a defensive tool against predators, not something they typically use on people, your other fish, or your coral, but it's why nothing in your tank wants to mess with it. Predatory fish learn fast that this one isn't worth the trouble, so it tends to swim around with a confidence that's way out of proportion to its small size.

Unlike some of the more territorial blennies out there, Smith's Fangblenny is genuinely peaceful. It won't harass tankmates, won't bother your corals or inverts, and does just fine in a mixed reef community. It's also a strong swimmer that spends more time cruising the water column than hiding in rockwork, so you'll actually see it.

A wild caught fangblenny can be a gamble, some acclimate fine, others never really settle in. Because this one comes from Proaquatix, it's been raised on pellets and frozen food, and it hasn't spent any time being shipped halfway around the world before it gets to you.
