Green Pipe Organ frag

Details

Tubipora musica: Add a truly unique centerpiece to your reef with our cultured Pipe Organ Coral frag. This coral gets its name from its striking skeletal structure that resembles the pipes of a church organ, topped with vibrant polyps that sway beautifully in the current.

Our Pipe Organ frags are sustainably cultured, ensuring you receive a healthy, aquarium-acclimated specimen that thrives in home reef systems. Unlike wild-harvested colonies, these aquacultured frags are hardier and better adapted to aquarium conditions, making them an excellent choice for reef keepers of all levels.

Pipe Organs are relatively fast growers under the right conditions and can form impressive colonies over time. They prefer moderate light and flow, which allows their delicate polyps to extend and wave gently, adding motion and texture to your aquascape.

Although Tubipora musica is classified as a soft coral, it stands out because it develops a hard, organ pipe-like skeleton made of fused calcium carbonate tubes. This skeletal structure is what gives the coral its distinct appearance and supports the soft, fleshy polyps that emerge from each tube. The combination of a rigid framework and delicate polyps makes Pipe Organ corals both visually unique and scientifically interesting, bridging the characteristics of soft corals and stony corals in one species.
