Amphiprion ocellaris - The Orange Ocellaris Clownfish is a classic favorite among reef aquarists, known for its bright orange coloration with crisp white bands and friendly demeanor. Bred by Proaquatix in the USA, these clownfish are aquacultured to thrive in home aquariums. They are hardy, peaceful, and an excellent choice for both beginner and experienced reefkeepers.
This species naturally hosts in a variety of anemones in the wild, most commonly the Heteractis magnifica (Magnificent Sea Anemone) and Stichodactyla gigantea (Gigantic Carpet Anemone), though in aquariums they can adapt to a range of suitable host anemones or even live comfortably without one.
Aquacultured clownfish like these are a sustainable alternative to wild-caught specimens. They arrive well-acclimated to aquarium life, readily accept prepared foods, and help reduce pressure on wild populations. Ocellaris Clownfish also do well in pairs or small groups and can be a charming and active addition to community tanks.
