Elacatinus puncticulatus - The Red Head Goby is a striking and ornate marine goby with a bright red head and delicate patterned body, highlighted by reflective yellow and blue stripes along its sides. Its translucent body and vibrant head make it an eye-catching addition to both nano and community reef aquariums.
In nature this species lives among the spines of pencil urchins for protection, and in the aquarium it tends to perch near rockwork or crevices, adding activity and personality to the tank. These gobies are peaceful reef inhabitants and function as ideal scavengers, often helping to keep the environment clean and dynamic. With their hardy nature, vivid coloration, and engaging behavior, they are well suited for nano or larger reef setups with peaceful tankmates. They can be kept singly, in twos, or in larger groups, or mixed with other nano goby species.
Captive-bred by Proaquatix, these gobies are hardy, disease-resistant, and trained to eat pellets, flakes, and frozen foods such as brine shrimp, Mysis, and chopped seafood.
