Elacatinus evelynae - With its electric blue and yellow racing stripes and sleek, streamlined body, the Sharknose Goby is more than just eye-catching, it’s also a functional member of your reef tank community. This Caribbean native is known for setting up cleaning stations, where it picks parasites and dead tissue off larger fish. It's a natural symbiotic behavior that adds both interest and utility to your aquarium.
This variety is captive bred in the USA by Proaquatix, raised entirely on prepared foods, and well-adjusted to aquarium life. That means it's hardier, more adaptable, and a sustainable alternative to wild-caught gobies.
Sharknose Gobies are peaceful and reef safe, making them a great choice for nano tanks, mixed reef systems, and even peaceful fish-only aquariums. They do well singly, in pairs, or in groups if given enough space. Watching them hover in the water column or interact with tankmates at their "cleaning station" is just one of the many reasons they’re such a popular choice.
When combining Proaquatix with Biota fish in the same order, please choose a Friday delivery.
